From an early age, I have been fascinated by the natural world. A keen birdwatcher, I went on to study Environmental Science at university, where my curiosity about the living world continued to grow. Alongside this, I have always loved making things — drawing, painting and exploring different creative pursuits.

It was through ceramics that these two sides of me finally came together. After taking a few introductory courses, I bought my own kiln and began exploring the endless possibilities of clay. What started as curiosity soon became a deep and lasting passion.

My work is a meeting point between my love of science, my fascination with nature, and the simple pleasure of making by hand. I am endlessly inspired by organic forms, the intricate patterns found in the natural world, and the subtle or unexpected colours that surround us. I enjoy allowing these influences to find their way into clay, sometimes recognisable and sometimes more abstract.

For me, ceramics offers an opportunity to slow down, observe and experiment. Each piece is shaped by hand and by the unpredictable nature of the material, making the process as important as the finished work. Through clay, I hope to capture something of the beauty, curiosity and quiet wonder that I have always found in the natural world.
